Dear Parent/Guardian

Re: St Edmund’s Day – Tuesday 16th November 2021

This half-term has seen a continuation of the great start to the year we had last half-term.  I hope you had a chance to read the newsletter and see some of the fantastic events, trips and extra-curricular activities to enrich the experiences of our students.

We will be celebrating the Feast of St Edmund’s on Tuesday 16th November 2021 and in the same format as last year we will be combining our celebrations with PSHE day.

On the 16th November, Year 8 and 10 will attend a special Mass at St John’s Cathedral in the morning following registration and will return to school in time for break.  For the duration of the day students will be with their tutor group undertaking a variety of PSHE activities.    They will leave from the school at the normal time (Years 8 and 10).

Years 7, 9 and 11 will remain in school for the morning with their year groups then they will have their own special Mass at St John’s Cathedral starting at 2pm.  Students (Years 7, 9 and 11) may then either be collected from the Cathedral at 3pm or make their own way home as normal.

You are welcome to join us for either of the Mass services which will start at 9.15am and again at 2pm.  This will be a delightful spiritual celebration of the ethos of St Edmund’s Catholic School.

Inset Day

I wanted to take this opportunity to remind you that the school is closed on Friday 26th November 2021 due to staff training and will re-open on Monday 29th November 2021 at 8.25am for all students.  The focus for all our training days will be on improving teaching and learning of all staff at St Edmund’s.

May I thank you for the continued support you give your child and St Edmund’s.
