Religious Education Outcomes

As part of a Catholic School Religious Education is a Core Subject and all pupils will study and take this as a GCSE Full Course.  Religious Education is an integral part of our pupils moral and spiritual growth and provides a daily opportunity for them to reflect on how faith plays a part in our society.

Since the changes to the GCSE grading in 2018, our pupils have achieved and sustained impeccable results that have exceeded national and local data.  Our pupils utilise their wide ranging and in depth knowledge of Catholicism and other faiths to achieve outstanding progress within Religious Education and contribute to St Edmund's continuing outstanding Progress 8 measurements.  It makes up 10% of the total study time.  Citizenship and PSHE are taught as separate subjects.
