Examination Results for Leavers 2026
St Edmunds Catholic School is delighted to celebrate the achievements of our Year 11 pupils following this year’s examination results.
Our pupils have demonstrated tremendous commitment, resilience and determination throughout their studies, and we are incredibly proud of the results they have achieved.
This year’s outcomes include:
- 8% of all entries achieved the highest grade of Grade 9.
- 31% of all entries achieved Grade 7 or above, reflecting a strong level of high attainment.
- 66% of all entries achieved Grade 5 or above.
- 83% of all entries achieved Grade 4 or above, representing a standard pass or better.
- 97% of our pupils achieved a Grade 4 or above in at least 1 subject, highlighting the excellent achievements of the vast majority of our Year 11 cohort.
Excellent Results in English and Maths
We are particularly pleased to celebrate the strong performance of our core subjects.
The English Department achieved an impressive 85% Grade 4 or above, demonstrating the excellent progress and attainment of our pupils in English.
Our Maths Department achieved an incredible 90% at Grade 4 or above — a fantastic achievement and one that reflects the hard work and dedication of both pupils and staff.
These results are a wonderful reflection of the commitment shown across the school family. Our pupils have worked incredibly hard throughout their GCSE and equivalent courses, supported by dedicated teachers and support staff who have gone above and beyond to help every pupil reach their potential.
We would also like to recognise the important role played by families in supporting and encouraging our pupils throughout their studies and examinations.
With 97% of pupils achieving Grade 4 or above, alongside strong performances in English and Maths and a significant proportion of entries achieving the highest grades, there is much to celebrate across our Year 11 cohort.
As our pupils now look ahead to the next stage of their education, whether continuing into sixth form, college, apprenticeships or other pathways, we wish them every success for the future.

As you may be aware, in 2014, the Government reformed and changed GCSE courses. This also coincided with a different emphasis on how schools are measured and compared to other schools. Despite these changes, St Edmund’s remains one of the top performing schools in the country. This reflects the school’s second ‘Outstanding’ grade for student achievement, which is based upon a consistent level of high performance.
We are extremely proud of all our staff and students who have worked incredibly hard to achieve outstanding results. We had many students achieving grade 9 and were above the national average for the number of students who achieved the top grade. I am equally as proud of those students who achieved grades which reflected their own progress and commitment to learning. All students (100%) left with qualifications. This can only be achieved as a contribution of quality teaching, high standards, hard work and the whole support of the St Edmund’s family.
