Year 11 Leavers Prom

Our Leavers’ Prom as I am sure yourself and students are now aware has had to be moved from the Queen’s Hotel due to COVID restrictions and will now take place at school on Thursday 1st July 2021. I am pleased we are still able to put on such a special event for the students and they are sure to have some surprises on the night which they will hopefully love.

As the students are no longer a bubble and now mixing in the wider community it is imperative they complete a lateral flow test before attending the prom. This must be completed on Wednesday 30th June and logged both on the school system and the NHS website. Proof of which must then be emailed across to Ms Slight Lslight@saintedmunds.org.uk on Wednesday 30th June. Failure to send across the message from the NHS to verify a negative test has been recorded will mean students will not be permitted to enter the Prom. This follows the same systems that all events now have in place in order to ensure the safety of all individuals attending. Testing kits are available from the school reception should you need any more.

Just a reminder of key timings for the Leavers’ Prom:

Date:               Thursday 1st July 2021.

Time:               6pm arrival.  10pm finish.

Venue:             Main Venue School.

Arrivals:           All arrivals through the main school gate (Arundel Street) then directed by staff.

Photographs: There will be an identified area for photographs to be taken upon arrival.

Guests:           There is no parking on the school site for visitors.

We would kindly ask that anyone coming to watch the arrivals please wear a mask and follow the social distancing instructions on arrival.  This is to protect not only the student and staff safety but also that of the community with the mixing of households.

We would also ask that all visitors also complete a Covid test on Wednesday 30th June prior to the event. Anyone with a positive test will not be permitted to attend.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents and carers for their support during my time as Head of Year. It has been an honour to look after such a fantastic year group and I will miss them immensely but I know they will go on to do great things.

If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me.

Miss Hammond
