Air Cabin Crew

What the job entails:

Air cabin crew keep air passengers safe and comfortable. They serve food and drinks and help passengers with any problems they have on the plane. As the passengers get on the plane, the air cabin crew greet them and help them find their seats. They also help them put their luggage in overhead lockers and make sure it is safe.

Routes and choices while at school:

Airlines vary in their entry requirements. Some ask for at least 3 GCSEs or equivalent qualifications, and others for more. Generally, these should include English and maths at grade 4 or C or better. Other relevant subjects include modern foreign languages, and travel and tourism. Getting good results will help you to compete for jobs and apprenticeships.

Pay:

Pay when starting is about £14,000 to £15,000 per year. When experienced, it is about £16,000 to £18,000. For experts with a lot of experience, pay can rise to £18,000 or more.
