Active Guidance mentoring Sessions

5 September 2018 (by Lisa Slight (lslight))

Active Guidance appointments Autumn Term

As you are aware, each term we run an Active Guidance Mentoring session for students, focusing on progress and personal improvement.

Active Guidance appointments will start on Monday 24th September 2018.  Your child will have an appointment to meet during this term with their tutor which will be recorded in their planner.   Progress will be reviewed and new targets will be set which will again focus on improving learning and achievement.

This terms active guidance sessions will use progress data collected from the end of last academic year and work completed so far this year. Hence it will be an accurate and up-to-date mentoring session reviewing effort, behaviour, homework and progress in all subjects. It will be particularly important to discuss the personal qualities students achieved last year within each subject.  As these give a clear indication of your child’s learning behaviour.

Please could I ask that you reinforce and remind your child of the importance of attending this meeting. It is also helpful if you discuss with your child the content of the meeting and targets they have been set in their planners.

Should you have any questions please contact your child’s Head of Learning or Tutor.

May I thank you in advance for the support you give your child and St Edmund’s.
