The School Day

We have staggered start times/finish times and break/lunch times

Start times: 8.25am (all students)

End of day:

3pm: Year 7, 8 & 10     

3.10pm: Year 9 & 11

Contact times: 

8.20am to 3.10pm for Year 7, 8, 9 & 10 

8.20am to 4pm for Year 11

Total contact times:

Reception & The School Office is open between 08.00 and 16.00.

We reserve the right to detain a pupil until 3.10pm (7, 8 and 10) and 3.20pm (9 and 11) without prior notification. Your child will be issued with an official slip at least 24 hours in advance if they have to be detained beyond 3.10/3.20pm. We will also send a text notifying you if your child will be detained.

Please note that the calendar dates are accurate at the time of uploading on the website.

Detentions

If pupils are issued with a detention the student will be given a slip by the member of staff. A text 24 hours prior to the detention date will be sent to the parent/carer notifying of the detention and the duration. 

Detentions are held as follows:

Headteacher's Detentions: Tuesday 15.15 - 17.15 hrs (2 hour detention)

Homework Detentions: KS3: Thursday (unless moved to a Tuesday) 15.00 - 16.00 hrs (Undertaken by the Department). KS4: Wednesday.

General Detentions: Wednesday 15.00 - 16.00 hrs (for 30 minute or 1 hour detention)

Maths Detentions: Friday 15.00 - 15.30 hrs

Pupil lists are sent to each class period 5 and students will be taken to the hall or designated room at the end of the school day by their class teacher.

Please refer to the KS3 Homework Calendars which show the date when homework is due in by and detention date.

Failure to Attend Any Detention will result in the following:

Any student failing to attend a 30-minute detention will receive a 1-hour Headteachers Detention and should they fail to attend the 1-hour Head detention they will go to a 2-hour Headteacher detention the following week. 

Any student failing to attend a 2-hour Headteacher detention will go to Inclusion the next working day to complete.
