School Cook (REF: CO26)

 

 Pay Band 3

Salary £25,948 (Pro Rata £15,206.01)

Term Time Only

Hours of Work: 8am to 1pm Monday to Friday

(With possibility of altering hours for right candidate)

25 hours per week

To Start September/October 2026

 As a school cook you will assist the Catering Manager in preparing, cooking, packing food, and also be able to operate a till.  In addition, you will set up and clear dining room areas and carry out cleaning duties.  The school cook role is ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, has a flexible approach and enjoys working with both adults and children. An enhanced DBS will be required to be in place prior to the start of employment.

We are seeking an Assistant Catering Manager to support our kitchen team. You will help prepare fresh, healthy meals, manage daily kitchen operations, and lead the team in the Catering Manager's absence.   An enhanced DBS will be required to be in place prior to the start of employment.

 

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience in a busy kitchen or school catering environment.
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, and allergen guidelines.
  • Great leadership and communication skills to work with children and adults.
  • A calm, organized approach and the ability to work well under pressure.

30 Hours per week (8.15am – 3.15pm)

 A suitably experienced and qualified person is required to fulfil the above role, which involves supervising classes of students undertaking work set on those occasions when teachers are absent from school.  You will need to have the ability to work with students at all levels. The candidate must be educated to at least A level.   The role is term time only.  Applicants must be sympathetic to the school’s Christian ethos.

Higher Level Teaching Assistant (REF: HLTA26)

 Pay Band 6 £28,239 - £32,061

(£22,340.58 - £25,374.26 Pro Rata)

33.45 hours per week, term time only

8.15am to 4pm (Monday to Friday)

 Start Date: October 2026

 Do you want to be part of our team; working with like-minded colleagues whose core belief is that all children are entitled to an excellent education and are at the heart of everything that we do? The successful candidate will be caring and enthusiastic and will have a genuine commitment to supporting the academic progress of pupils aged 11-16.  

The candidate will be part of the Learning Support Department.

 You will need to hold a relevant Level 2 or higher childcare qualification, have good communication skills and excellent literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE or equivalent, Grade C or above). Good ICT skills would also be desirable and at least two years’ experience working with children, preferably within an education setting.  The role is term time only.

 The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a finance environment and hold relevant financial qualifications; experience of Fusion would be an advantage. Duties to include the recording of all financial transactions, collection and processing of monies received from pupils.   Assisting in the control of the financial administration of the school.  Working under own initiative to ensure the workload is prioritised and efficiently completed.
