Transition to St Edmund's September 2020

Please contact transition@saintedmunds.org.uk should you have any queries.

New Parents Evening

Now that the lockdown has eased further, we are in a position to New Parents Evenings in July where there will be the opportunity to purchase uniform and hand in forms. Students will also have the opportunity to meet with their tutor group and tutor. In order for this event to go ahead, we have spread the evenings over four days. Parents have been allocated dates and times and notified by letter. This appointment date and time cannot be rescheduled if you are unable to attend. As a school we are practising social distancing and we ask that only one parent and the student attend the evening to minimise the risk to parents and staff.

Uniform Shop

The School Uniform Shop will be open at the New Parents Evening on the dates specified in the letter. Click here for uniform information and order forms.

If you are unable to purchase uniform at the New Parents Evening, the uniform shop will be open for new Year 7 students only on Monday 20th July by appointment only. If you require an appointment time, please email: transition@saintedmunds.org.uk including your child's name and a contact telephone number. You will be contacted nearer the time with an appointment slot.

Governors Building Fund

St Edmund's Catholic School is a  Voluntary Aided School which means we receive no state funding for new buildings or refurbishment of existing classrooms/areas of the school. Therefore, it is necessary to ask parents to contribute to the Building Fund to enable us to provide the best environment for all students who attend.

When your child joins us in September, they will be able to enjoy the buildings and surroundings that past parents have enabled us to build and create by making their yearly contributions. The Sports Hall, Technology block and the new Wright building that will be opened in July could not have taken place without parental contributions.

Please help us by making your contribution so we can continue to plan and budget for further refurbishment and maintenance work giving your child the best environment to learn and achieve.

Please complete and hand in the Building Fund and Gift Aid forms at the New Parents Evening.

ParentPay is the system we use to have the freedom to make payments online for school meals, school trips, music lessons etc. It is a secure website and many parents have been reassured that the money reaches the school quickly and safely and that their child no longer has the responsibility of carrying money into school.

A letter including a username and password has been sent to all new Year 7 parents.

The benefits of using ParentPay are:

As an online payment system you can pay for lunches, trips and other items any time of day, seven days a week.

  • You can ensure any money paid for lunches is only spent on food purchased at school.
  • You can view the items your child purchased for lunch.
  • You eliminate the need to find cash for your child to take to school and the risk of your child losing money.
  • You only need to log on once to pay for all your children at the school.
  • You can see trips online even if your child forgets to bring letters home.
  • You can guarantee items have been paid.
